Draft Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy available for community feedback.
The Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy will inform the development and management of recreation and leisure facilities and services over the next 10 years.
The Shire's Draft Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy have been developed based on feedback received through community and stakeholder consultation in 2022/23.
The Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy have been reviewed simultaneously as they interlink with shared goals and objectives.
Key Components of the Leisure Plan
Assess local sport, recreation, leisure profiles, and the current provision of community infrastructure
Set guiding principles for the future provision requirements of community infrastructure
Provide key action categories and hierarchy to guide the development of future community facility provision
Recommended table of projects, with timelines and financial modelling to guide community infrastructure provision until 2036 across Shire Townsites
Key Components of the Public Open Space Strategy
Set objectives to guide the location and characteristics of Public Open Space
Assess current Public Open Space provision across Shire Townsites
Classify the types of Public Open Space to inform and set expectations on the level of infrastructure and servicing required
Provide strategies to guide Public Open Space provision until 2036 across Shire Townsites

Outcomes of the community consultation, as well as demographic research and community workshops, will enable the creation of the Draft Community Infrastructure Plan, Draft Gloucester Park Masterplan and the Public Open Space Strategy. The Draft reports will be available for public feedback and consultation.

Based on community feedback received during consultation, the Draft Leisure Plan and Public Open Space Strategy will be revised before being presented to Council for determination.
